Stainless steel welding bars are designed for welding high-strength (super duplex) austenitic-ferritic steels of the 25%Cr–7%Ni–4%Mo–N group in pure argon or argon–helium alloys, such as SAF 2507 (S32750, W.Nr 1.4410), Zeron 100 (S32760, W.Nr 1.4501), S32550 (W.Nr 1.4507), DP3W (S39274), and similar types in pure argon or argon–helium alloys. This material can also be used for welding standard duplex steels.
The weld metal exhibits very high mechanical properties and ductility, and demonstrates excellent resistance to overall corrosion, intergranular corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking.
- Critical temperature of pitting corrosion (CTP) according to ASTM Part 48: 50–60°C
- PRE (Pitting Resistance Equivalent) index: approximately 42
Main applications:
- Manufacture of heavy-duty technological equipment for the paper and pulp industry
- Anti-icing protection for offshore oil and gas drilling platforms
Welding technology parameters:
- Heat input: 0.2–1.5 kJ/mm
- Interpass temperature: ≤100°C
- Ferrite content in weld metal according to Schäffler scheme: ~20–35%
- According to WRC-92 calculations: FN ~30–50
