AWS A5.28: ER80S-B8 welding electrodes are specialized welding materials designed for argon arc welding of heat-resistant steels. These electrodes have a copper coating and are classified as low-alloy chromium-molybdenum materials with the European designation W CrMo9Si according to EN ISO 21952-A.
These electrodes contain chromium and molybdenum as the main alloying elements, providing high heat resistance and weld bead tolerance up to 600°C. The silicon content improves deoxidation and weld bead formation quality. The copper coating provides better corrosion resistance and improves arc quality during welding.
ER80S-B8 electrodes are widely used for welding heat-resistant steels in electrical engineering, steam pipelines and boiler equipment, pressure vessels, and structures operating at high temperatures and pressures.
