Titanium welding wire is manufactured from commercially pure titanium and is specifically designed for TIG welding (manual and automatic) of pure titanium components operating in extremely demanding environments. It is also suitable for welding certain dissimilar joints between titanium and its alloys or with other metals. This is the most commonly used titanium welding wire.
The product is widely applied in the fabrication of pressure vessels, columns, tanks, heat exchangers, shafts, fans, valves, fittings, condensers, and industrial piping systems.
As titanium is highly sensitive to oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen at elevated temperatures, welding requires thorough surface cleaning and the use of ultra-high purity argon shielding gas (≥ 99.995%). The weld zone and heat-affected area must be protected with inert gas until the temperature drops below approximately 400°C to prevent embrittlement and degradation of mechanical properties.
